Step-by-Step Reconstitution Guide
Follow these steps for proper neurotoxin preparation
Gather Supplies
Prepare all necessary materials before beginning
- •Neurotoxin vial (check expiration date)
- •Preservative-free 0.9% Normal Saline
- •Appropriate syringe (1mL or 3mL)
- •21-gauge needle for drawing saline
- •Alcohol swabs
Calculate Dilution
Determine the amount of saline based on desired concentration
- •Choose your desired units per 0.1mL
- •Reference the dilution chart for your product
- •Draw the calculated amount of saline
Clean the Vial
Prepare the vial stopper
- •Remove the plastic cap from the vial
- •Clean the rubber stopper with alcohol swab
- •Allow to dry completely
Inject Saline Slowly
Add saline to the vial using proper technique
- •Insert needle through the center of the stopper
- •Inject saline SLOWLY along the side of the vial
- •Do NOT inject directly onto the powder
- •Do NOT shake or agitate the vial
- •Allow the vacuum to pull saline in naturally
Gently Mix
Dissolve the powder without damaging the protein
- •Gently swirl the vial (do not shake)
- •The solution should be clear and colorless
- •Discard if cloudy or contains particles
- •Record the date and time of reconstitution
